What We Do

Rest & Reconnect LV started as a simple Meetup group in November 2025 and quickly grew into a grassroots organization with community partners. We started strong and have built the infrastructure to sustain free and accessible events in Las Vegas.

What We Do

Founding organizer Laya is a rare-disease disability advocate with extensive experience in event programming. She uses that knowledge to support the Las Vegas disability community and foster a culture of accessible, free events.

Along the way, Rest & Reconnect LV has met potential organizers and community members. Through feedback and work with different disability organizations, Rest & Reconnect LV has decided to expand its services. Rest & Reconnect LV will continue holding their monthly support group, SUPPORT UP, in Las Vegas. We will also hold public, accessible workshops and campaigns that help inform the disability community about changes that may affect them.

Public Voices: Medicaid Public Awareness Campaign

Rest & Reconnect LV organizers have identified that new Health and Human Services Medicaid changes are a cause for great concern. Our organizers are developing a public awareness campaign around Medicaid through a three-part medical advocacy workshop series.

The advocacy workshops will be free and will highlight the skills and documentation people may need when advocating for themselves as patients. Our series will also include specific events around secure medical data logging and may include a speaker.

What Comes Next?

While we work toward this, Rest & Reconnect LV plans to hold a collaborative Town Hall in September. Rest & Reconnect LV is also exploring fundraising auctions, skill-based events, and a more formal organizational structure. We're still here to unite for positive community change within Las Vegas.
