What We Do
Rest & Reconnect LV connects disability advocacy with community participation in Las Vegas. Through Support UP, community events, and advocacy initiatives, we create opportunities for disabled adults to build connections; share experiences; and participate in the issues that matter to them.
ACTIVE
CONNECT
Support UP and our monthly community events give disabled adults opportunities to connect with others in welcoming spaces. We recognize that social isolation can be a significant barrier to community participation, and we encourage people to engage at their own pace.
ACTIVE
ADVOCATE
Our Nevada Medicaid Advocacy Campaign and Medical Advocacy Series serve as local disability advocacy and self-advocacy tools. Guided by the Independent Living philosophy, RRLV focuses on making disability-related issues more visible and encouraging informed community participation.
IN DEVELOPMENT
EXPLORE
RRLV is developing individualized peer support and resource referral services for disabled adults. Participants explore available community and state resources and identify community connections. All people with disabilities deserve community.
IN DEVELOPMENT
LEARN
We're developing accessible educational opportunities focused on honing participants' advocacy, public policy knowledge, and practical skills. In the past, we've hosted cybersecurity and skills-based workshops for participants and community members. Our goal is to create learning opportunities that are neurodivergent-friendly and accessible to disabled participants.
